Encyclopaedia Judaica (1971) indicates in the article
"Miami" in vol.11 col. 1477-1480 the following figures for
the Jewish population:
1925: 2,000
1930: 3,500
1940: 7,500 (Greater Miami), "with the greatest increase in
Miami Beach, where a new congregation was established"
1960s: 60,000 ("North and South Miami Beach").
<The trend of younger families during the 1950s and 1960s
was to move to North Miami Beach and Southwest Miami, each
of which numbered about 30,000 Jewish residents. There were
also centers of Jewish population in the city of Miami and
the surrounding communities.> (col. 1478)
[[Well, one can assume that the jump from 7,500 to 60,000
was provoked by Jewish influx during and after NS times in
Europe]].
