<Holocaust and Contemporary Periods.

Under German occupation in World War II the Jews who had not managed (col. 517)

to escape were expelled on July 16, 1940, along with the Jews in the rest of Alsace and Moselle. The synagogue which had been partially damaged was saved from total destruction when the edifice was requisitioned by the municipal theater.

After 1945 some surviving Jews came back.

[[IN the 1960s many Jews came from North African countries fleeing from Africas independent governments because of passoport matters and because of policy of racist Free Mason anti Muslim CIA Herzl governed Israel]].

In 1970 Mulhouse had 1,800 Jewish inhabitants and a well-organized and active Jewish community." (col. 518)
