<From the close of the 19th century, the community diminished steadily in number.

[[In 1940 great numbers of fleeing Jews arrived in Nîmes]].

Although 40 families were resorted in 1941, some of these were refugees from the interior of France.

[[There were probably more because many Jews did not say any more that they were Jews but indicating other nationalities. Then there were probably deportations from 1943 to 1944 under German NS occupation, and a reestablishment since 1945, followed by an influx of Jews coming back from racist anti Muslim Zionist Free Mason CIA  Herzl governed Israel, and coming from North Africa in the 1960 because of passport questions and anti Judaism because of 6-Day-War of racist anti Muslim Zionist Free Mason CIA Herzl governed Israel]].

In 1970 the community of 1,200 persons, mainly of North African origin, possessed a synagogue and a community center.> (col. 1166).
