3. Sass: Saga testimonies to the violent missionization of the Old North

If we compile here the Saga testimonies for this important question, so we have to consider that this is only a little book and we have not the space to present the effects of the conversion measures which were executed by the mafia members of Rome and by their tools. But principally, these developments of cultural rising or downfall is basically the decisive element of the whole missionary work. The Sagas offer a lot of proofs for this, and persons who want to inform themselves can compare the classic, old Icelandic family sagas which were written in the pagan [Mother Earth] time with the descriptions of the Christian [Jesus fantasy] time from the Sturlungen period - which took place about 200 years after the [forced Jesus fantasy] christianization [p.14].

Furthermore, a short remark for all those who have not yet dealt with the Old Norse traditions. There can come up the suspicion that the saga writers had a sharp anti "Christian" pagan basic position making exaggerations and presenting propaganda inventions against facts

But there can be no question of that. The saga writers were also [Jesus Fantasy] Christians, some even [Jesus Fantasy] clergy; certainly they had enjoyed ecclesiastical education, and for the most part they would have borne at least the lower ecclesiastical [Jesus fantasy] ordinations, which were widespread in the circles of the educated at that time.

These church-educated reporters would therefore have had the opportunity to cover up unpleasant things in their presentation of historical events or to paint over them in the sense of the Roman clergy. Here and there all kinds of ecclesiastical accessories are inserted, such as the legends of saints about Olaf the Fat and about Canute of Denmark. But such passages stand out from the outset in such a way from the other factual, almost chronicle-like reports that one immediately notices where the truth ends and the Roman tendency-myth-making begins.

But the old Norsemen did not want to have to do anything with such mystical things; they rejected such propaganda works as "lying sagas", and from this straight and honest position, most of the saga writers were putting down the oral tradition, and the reports were extremely precise, and they were keen on presenting the sagas how the events had really happened.

By comparing the individual traditions [p.14] one can find the value of the sources of these sagas, when even little details and episodes can be proven in them.

Now our little booklet here is presenting some decisive proofs and phrases, and this may have a boring effect, but no reader should be blocked by this to get to know the magnificent, lively descriptions of the sagas themselves. We made the comparison here for all people who are not scientists in this matter, too, and we present the "Thule" collection in it's translation.

Let's try now to follow the big events of the [enforces Jesus fantasy] christianization of the Teutonic Northern hemisphere just using the Saga testimonies.

The North Germanics were confronted with [Jesus fantasy] Christianity in some little cases by their Viking voyages, but the sagas present us a clear position of the natives in the North: they had no great affection to this new belief before the principal beginning of missionary work.

[England with Jesus fantasy Christianity under a certain Mr. Aethelstan forces foreign merchants to sign with a "cross sign"]

Under King Aethelstan (894-939 - [web22]) in England which was already under the [Jesus fantasy] Christian dogma, it was for example normal that pagan [Mother Earth] traders from other countries when they wanted to trade with inhabitants, they had to accept the cross sign. But they were not yet baptized. On both sides, this was a mere formality invented by the [Jesus fantasy] Christians because they should not have contact with [Mother Earth] pagans, but at te same time they did not want to renounce to foreign trade. "The men who wore the cross sign had free contact with [Jesus fantasy] Christians as well as with [Mother Earth] pagans and confessed the faith they liked best" (Egilssaga, "Thule" [collection], vol. 3, c.50). 2. Jesus fantasy mission against Norway coming from England

First attempts

[Norway: King Håkon the Good with Jesus fantasy education - but he keeps this secret - but wants the forced mission by law - total resistance]

-- Æthelstan (Old Greek: Æþelstān) (* in about 894; † 27 October 939 in Gloucester) was King of Wessex from 924 to 927 and King of the English from 927 to 939. This king Aethelstan in England was the one who first "united" England or destroyed all other cultures in England making Scotland and Wales liable to pay tribute [web22]
-- with this English king Aethelstan a Norwegian nobleman's son was educated in the "Christian" way, the king Håkon the Good of Norway (about 950) (920-961 [web02]). Håkon then moved from England to Trondheim [which was the government capital of Norway in those times] and wanted to forcibly Christianize all Norwegians by law, but this maneuver failed due to resistance. Håkon remaines just a private man with a "Christian faith". This tolerance was badly rewarded: He fell against the Christian brutal Harald Blauzahn ("Bluetooth") of Denmark (p.15-16)

England was the central point from where the "Christians" should terrorize the Teutonic Nordic peoples for missionary work. King Håkon the Good of Norway (about in 950) (920-961 [web02]), a foster son of [a] king of Aethelstan, had been educated in England as a Christian. When he came to the throne in Norway, where he at first "believed that he was in great need of the help of many influential people and of the love of the whole people, he decided to practice his [Jesus fantasy] Christianity only private in silence" ...

"Håkon's intention was that if he had consolidated his power in the country [by connections, marriages, bribes?] in such a way that he could freely switch throughout the country, he would introduce Christianity to the general public." (Heimskringla, Håkonsaga, Thule Collection 15, c.13). [p.15]

Håkon therefore planned to lead the people to the new [Jesus fantasy] faith not through their free decision, but through state coercive regulations. But when he tried to do so, he met with unanimous resistance from his subjects. In this case the people demanded the decision of the Frostathing [a people's assembly in Frosta in Norway - web03]. The displeasure of the population with the king's orders was clearly expressed in the words of one of the [Mother Earth] pagan speakers at this great thing [people's assembly]:

"In this way was the mentality of the [Mother Earth] farmers, Mr. King Håkon", he began his speach, "when you had your first Thing [people's assembly] here in Drontheim [Trondheim] and we were proclaiming you as a King and you were confirming our inheritance, so we thought that we had received Heaven on Earth now. But now we don't know if we really got our freedom or if you want to install another slavery here with crazy projects like prohibition of our belief which had had our fathers and our forefathers already." [p.16]

The change of faith is rejected and the people demand that the king take part in the pagan [Mother Earth and gods]-festivals and customs again. Jarl Sigurd, himself a convinced [Mother Earth] pagan, then mediates between the king and the people, who retain their old freedom of religion. The pagan population [with Mother Earth and with their gods] then stands loyally by the king's side even against external enemies, and it seems that Håkon himself had also approached paganism again [with Mother Earth and with the gods], because when he later fell in battle against Harald Greymantle [Harald Blauzahn - Bluetooth] (961), the skald Eyvind composed a song about the death of the king [Håkon]

"and now I sing about the event how he was received in Valhalla" (c.32).

Well, in Valhalla were only people honored who were with the old gods of the past, wo Eyvind's verses are a proof that the population then was not at all considering Håkon a [Jesus fantasy] "Christian". [p.16]

3. Jesus fantasy mission against Norway coming from Denmark

-- in 970 the Blauzahn (Bluetooth) lures the Graufell (Greyfur) first to a joint campaign and then into an ambush to murder him. And in this way, the brutal "Christian" Harald Blauzahn claims that he is still the King of Norway: "He subsequently made himself King of Norway again." [web22]

Thus, the first attempt to Christianize Norway with the help of the state power [with a Håkon] had completely failed. The second incursion into the pagan Teutonic  north [with Mother Earth and with the gods of the past] was attempted by Christianity via Denmark [with a Harald Blauzahn].

Norway had meanwhile come under the sovereignty of Denmark, and there now - nominally as a Danish vassal, but in fact with royal power - was ruling Mr. Jarl Håkon, a son of the above-mentioned Jarl Sigurd. Since he ruled over 16 other jarles [principalities], most of the country was under his command.

4. Conversion of Denmark [invasion of "Christian" Emperor Otto II in 974 with war, violence and blackmail]

When now the German Emperor Otto II (955-983 [web04]) marched against Denmark with a mighty army to Christianize the country, of course [p.16] also Jarl Håkon [from Norway] came to the aid of his liege lord with his army, and he defeated the [Jesus fantasy] Emperor [in the year 974] in the battle of the Danevirke. In the absence of Håkon's army (the Norwegians sailed home in November 974 [web04]) the Danish king [Harald Blauzahn] is completely defeated shortly afterwards by Otto [and his Jesus fantasy superiority]. [Supplement: Details of the Battle of the Danevirke of 974 from Mossad Wikipedia (always read this with caution): "The Danish king Harald Blauzahn (link ENGL) had to recognize the supremacy of Otto the Great and had converted to Christianity. Harald had fulfilled all his obligations to Otto's father and paid tribute. In the meantime, however, he had extended his power over Norway. In view of his precedence of age and his increased power, he was not prepared to serve the young ruler as he had once served his father. He may have wanted to cut off his dependence on the Reich. In the summer of 974 he invaded northern Albingia (link ENGL). Supported by Norwegian troops under Jarl Håkon (link ENGL), he advanced south over the Danish rampart Danevirke (link ENGL). Otto's first counterattack failed in front of the Danevirke, which was tenaciously defended by Jarl Håkon and the Norwegians. Only in autumn, when the Norwegians had sailed north again, Otto made the breakthrough. A prestigious symbolic act ended the fighting: through a castle-like gate in the Danish fortification wall, the emperor had access to Harald's kingdom at all times. In Snorri's "Heimskringla" (work on Norwegian kings, which is attributed to Snorri Sturluson [web05]), in the history of Olaf Tryggvason (Norwegian king 995 to 1000 [web06]), it says about this (c.27):

"In the end, however, the Emperor [Otto II] got his victory, the Danish king [Bluetooth], however, fled to the Limfjord [to the northern tip of Denmark] and sailed to Morsö Island [Morsø Island / Mors in the Limfjord]. There were walking intermediary messengers between the emperor and the king walking around. An armistice was concluded and a meeting was arranged. Emperor Otto and the Danish king met in Morsö."

"King Olaf ... went to Norway," it says, "and was proclaiming there [Jesus Fantasy] Christianity to all the people. He had the first [Jesus Fantasy] church built on the island, which is called Mostr Island. There on the island, he had Mr. Dankbrand hold the [Jesus Fantasy] service and gave him a farm and land. Step by step, the destructive power of the new [Jesus Fantasy] doctrine began to have it's effect on Iceland more and more. Here and there the disintegration of the once so tightly closed clans began. Opposition to the new doctrine arose. Two Skalds, Thorwald the Weak and Vertrlidi, also make mocking verses on Dankbrand. Maybe, this was not a particularly noble kind of fight, but after all it was only a mockery of a [Jesus fantasy] priest, while on the other side the old gods [of the past] were blasphemed in a rather mean way, as for example a verse by Hjalti Skeggissohn is proving us:

"Mobbing of the gods without repentance: 'Yes, repentant is Freyja!'" (Kristnisaga, p.10; Njala, Thule Collection 4, p.102) [p.24]

When he felt that he was not capable to convince his enemies of the new [Jesus Fantasy] doctrine nor eliminating any contradiction, he began to use "other means" which Olaf had expressly approved for conversion measures. When Dankbrand learned that Vetrlidi was cutting peat with his people - i.e. they were not armed and certainly not prepared for a fight - he rode there with his companions "and killed him there by slaying" ... "From there they rode [p.24] westwards to Grimsnes and found Thorwald the Weak and slew him there." (c.9). [p.25]

The Salmon Water Valley Saga (Lachswassertalsaga) also reports on Dankbrand's violent actions. The description says that "passing winter times, Mr. Dankbrand was visiting Hall of Sida". "He proclaimed the [Jesus Fantasy] faith to the people, sometimes with a friendly speech and sometimes with harsh words of punishment; Mr. Dangbrand slew two men who spoke particularly eagerly against him." (Laxdoelasaga, c.41) [p.25]

For such "convincing missionary sermons", Mr. Dankbrand was sued for being outlawed. He now wanted to leave the country, but he was denied any support, because according to the law of the country, anyone who helped an outlaw was liable to prosecution. He forcibly took food from a man named Kol, who refused to sell him food. Mr. Kol complained to Skeggbjörn, who was probably the gode [boss] of the district, and this one demanded that Mr. Dankbrand would hand over the robbery. "But he flatly refused. They had a fight in a meadow below Steinsholt. There Skeggbjörn fell with others." (Kristnisaga, c.9) [p.25]

In the Kristnisaga (c.11) it is said that Olaf became so angry at Dankbrand's report "that he seized many Icelanders (who were staying in Norway at this moment) and took them  i n t o   i r o n   s h a c k l e s .  S o m e   w e r e   t h r e t e n e d   b y   d e a t h ,   o t h e r s   w e r e   m u t i l i a t e d ,   s o m e   w e r e   r o b b e d    o f   t h e i r   g o o d s ;   t h e   k i n g   s a i d   t h a t   h e   w i l l   t a k e   r e v  e  n g e for how contemptuously their fathers would have received his [Jesus Fantasy] message in Iceland." [p.25]

Also the [Mother Earth] pagans feel compelled to take up arms under these circumstances, and so a civil war threatens to break out [p.26].

The law spokesman Mr. Thorgeir should settle the case and decide which faith they want to recognize in the future, because they don't want to spread the religious disputes to the entire population. Both parties should therefore have to accept the decision of the law spokesman at all costs. [p.26]

Reports of the Kristnisaga (c.13) and the Njalssaga (Th.4, c.105) show how the [Jesus Fantasy] Christians now "really began" that they won the victory which was not possible before only preaching the new [Jesus Fantasy] doctrine and by murdering some people. [p.26]

"Then the [Jesus Fantasy] Christians begged Mr. Sidu-Hall," it says, "that he should present the law to them as it was in accordance with [Jesus Fantasy] Christianity . . . Mr. Hall convinced the gode [local boss] Thorgeir with half a hundred pieces of silver [50 pieces of silver] to present both the [Jesus-fantasy]-Christian and the [Mother Earth]-pagan law; he had not yet been baptized at that time." [p.26]

The Njala (Njala saga from Iceland [web12]) says the following about this process:

The bribed person makes his decision entirely in the sense of the [Jesus Fantasy] Christian side. This is how the questionable "conversion" of Iceland took place in the year 1000. This was not a conversion by war violence, but all in all

Finally, as a conclusion to the saga documents on the missionary activity of Olaf Tryggvason, a passage from the Hallfred's Saga may testify to how the instruments of Rome at that time occasionally liked to put into practice the doctrine of Christian [Jesus fantasy] charity. [p.27]

Olaf's skald Hallfred - who has become a [Jesus Fantasy] Christian, but is still quite pagan at heart [with Mother Earth], as his verses show, which occasionally arouse the king's displeasure - is once sent by the king as a "messenger of [Jesus Fantasy] faith" to one of his subjects, who was still faithful to the old faith. It says there (Th. 9, c.230): The king said "... but you, Hallfred, shall go to the Highlands as my [Jesus Fantasy] messenger to Thorleif the Wise. He does not want to accept [Jesus Fantasy] Christianity.   Y o u   s h a l l   s l a y   h i m   t o   d e a t h  o r   b l i n d   h i m  ... I give you my blessing, and take as many [armed] men as you like." Hallfred said it would be an uncomfortable trip, "but I will do following all your orders." [p.27]

In fact, Hallfred seeks out Thorleif, attacks him and deliberately pushes out one of his eyes in a wrestling match. Thorleif asks to at least let him have the other eye. "I know very well that you are only fulfilling the king's order to blind or kill me. But now I ask you anyway, leave me my other eye ..." He offers him valuable gifts in return, but Hallfred declares that "he will not accept precious gifts from him for not fulfilling the king's mission completely, but rather that he will give him one eye by his own will." [p.28]

Thus the skald, who is still little inwardly affected by [Jesus Fantasy] Christianity, proves to be significantly more human than the pioneer of the new [Jesus Fantasy] doctrine, his boss, whose orders he dares to resist. [p.28]

But no one will believe that the [Jesus Fantasy] missionary work carried out in this way could bring about an inner change of faith, and this explains why not even 20 years after Olaf Tryggvason's death (he died in the year 1000) again a new missionary campaigns was in project to be undertaken all over Norway in order to preserve the "[Jesus Fantasy] Christian state". [p.28]

The inhabitants had been forcibly baptized and then they hoped to have peace. The clergy apparently had no time to take care of the [Jesus Fantasy] spiritual well-being of their congregations. In any case, the sagas do not tell us anything of the kind, but they do tell of the feasts and revelries [food and drinking festivals with much wine and alcohol] of the clergy on a scale never seen before in the north. Meanwhile, the population, left to its own devices, quietly cultivated its old, familiar [Mother Earth] pagan cult forms and customs. This went on until the [Jesus fantasy] clergy finally realized that their church building was in danger of collapsing completely, and they had to call on the help of the state again to have the heavily faltering building supported by coercive measures. Thus, Olaf the Fat became the second "proselytizer" of Norway. [p.29]

The second part of Snorri's "Hemiskringla", the Olafssaga helga (Collection Thule 15), first confirms how little Christianity had prevailed in Norway so far, despite all the acts of violence of Rome's helpers, and then gives us a vivid picture of the actions of this second missionary king, whom Rome elevated to sainthood because of his "merits" after it had betrayed him before, when ecclesiastical political points of view made this appear advantageous. [p.29]

Almost monotonously, the saga reports in this way about one disaster after the other. About Olaf's journey [Olaf the Fat] to the people of Helgeland (Helgelanders) and his appearance at the Thing [People's Assembly] in the location of Namdalen (landscape in central Norway [web13]) it says:

"There, as everywhere, he solemnly had laws presented ordering the rural population to fulfill the [Jesus Fantasy] Christian belief and if not  t h e i r   b o d y ,   l i f e   a n d   p o s s  e  s s i o n   w o u l d   b e   i n   d a n g e r  who does not accept the Christian law. Then the King was ordering many heavy punishments and was acting against the powerful and the powerless in the same way." (c.105) [p.30)

One day, King Olaf [the Fat] also hears that in Inner Drontheim [province] "almost all the people [of Mother Earth] are pagan in their faith, even if some men are baptized there," and that pagan festivals are performed [for Mother Earth and the gods of ancient times], such as solstice celebrations, etc. At the location of Mären, there would be preparations for such a festival at the moment. Immediately the [Jesus Fantasy] king goes there with an army of 360 men, arrives at night and surrounds the houses. A certain Oelvir, who this time has to organize and lead the festival, is seized, "and the king  l e t   h i m   k i l l   t o g e t h e r   w i t h   s o m e   o t h e r   m e n ." [p.30]

This case is all the more serious because we are dealing here with real pagans [people with Mother Earth] who are not baptized yet, who only keep their old customs in true faithfulness and are secretly murdered in the darkness of the night without any announcement, without any attempt to instruct them about the [Fake Jesus Fantasy] Christian faith. But this is not enough yet: to the treacherous murder the king also adds cowardly robbery [p.30]:

"The king had all the provisions for the festival taken away and brought on board his ships, as well as all household goods, carpets, robes, and valuables that the people had brought there." [p.31]

"The king also had the men seized, who, according to his meaning, had the most share in these events. Some of them were captured and put in irons, others managed to escape by fleeing, but many had their belongings taken away." ... [p.31]

"Olaf declared that Oelvir was not worthy of a fine, and he took possession of all the property that he had owned. As for the other men whom he considered to be accomplices,
-- so he had some of them slain [murder] and
-- mutilate others [e.g. cut off fingers or toes],
-- still others he drove out of the country [banishment] or
-- he ordered them to pay fines." [permanent debts] (c.109) [p.31]

Soon afterwards a new expedition [excursion of an army] by Olaf to the Upper Land (Oberland) is necessary. He has been King of Norway for seven years now, but despite all his violent measures, the people there [with Mother Earth and with their Gods of the past] are still tenaciously loyal to the old faith. This time, too, Olaf proceeds as usual.

"There he always had the most distinguished men imprisoned in Lesö (Laesø, island in the Kattegat, today Danish [web14]) and in Dovre (province in southern Norway [web15]), and they had to either accept the [Jesus Fantasy] Christian faith or T o d e r l e n  or finally flee if they could manage to do that." [p.31]

How much the King feared revenge, moreover, is evident from the fact that he stayed in the area for only one night, just long enough to have the usual executions carried out. [Those] who became [Jesus Fantasy] Christians had to give "King Olaf [the Fat] their sons as hostages for their loyalty." [S.31]

Typical of his "conversion work" is another passage in the same chapter of this saga: The [Jesus Fantasy] king "then moved on ... to a place called Stavebrekke [?]. This valley is crossed by a river, the Ottaelv (river Otta in southern Norway [web16]), and a stately settlement is on both banks called Lom (city in southern Norway [web17]). The king could see over the whole settlement. "What a pity," he said, "that we have to burn down such a magnificent property!" [p.31]

So the King also issued "the invitation to a Thing [people's assembly] ... and he let ... proclaim the message that they should either fight with him and expect the cremation of their country by him or accept the [Jesus Fantasy] Christian faith and give him their sons as hostages. Some, however, fled to the Gudbrand Valley (Gudbrandstal)." (c.111) [p.32]

How convinced [Jesus Fantasy] these "converted Christians" may be, everyone can imagine for themselves. In any case, all such acts of violence gradually shook Olaf's royal throne. More and more the bitterness of the [Mother Earth] farmers grew; an uprising was being prepared. [p.32]

Rome's condemnation of Olaf and Jesus Fantasy canonization

-- the resistance of the Mother Earth population is increasing, the power of Jesus Fantasy Olaf the Fat in Norway is sinking more and more (p.32)

[The Church of] "Rom" - tactical as ever, and willing to turn its mantle to the wind if it expects to gain an advantage from it - foresees the possibility of Olaf's overthrow and seeks to catch up with its opponents as a precautionary measure, so as not to be left without influence in Norway one day. Here, too, the sneaky double game really succeeds. Thus Olaf the Fat, as little as one can respect him on the basis of all his other bearing, becomes, as it were, a tragic figure. The power, for the promotion of which he had devoted all his strength, betrays him at the moment when fortune threatens to leave him. Snorri's description of this king's and "missionary" fate is almost dramatic here. [p.32]

Olaf's power has already sunk to such an extent that he can no longer proceed against the [Mother Earth] pagans with days of violence as before. But now it is more evident than ever how strong paganism is even in its own surroundings, in its own army, and one would almost like to admire the unconditional consistency with which Olaf even now, in his heavily oppressed situation, renounces the support of pagan troops. Snorri tells about it in the "Olafssaga helga" [p.32]:

When the King learned this, he ordered them to be [Jesus Fantasy] baptized. He declared that he wanted to have no heathens in his order of battle." [p.32]

And now, the sage tells us something completely new:

"The liberties were restricted so much so they were not even allowed to believe in their Gods as they wanted." ... "We are building on [the Fantasy] God, and by his power and grace we will gain victory." (c.204) [p.32]

A large part of his pagan troops then abandons his army, and it soon becomes apparent that the [Jesus Fantasy] King had hoped for too much in his trust in [Fantasy] God, because in the meantime King Knut the Mighty of Denmark has invaded almost the whole kingdom, had installed Jarl Håkon as deputy ruler, and the Roman [Jesus Fantasy] Church, which promptly took the side of the just more powerful one, had made fiery speeches against Olaf and his subjects through the [Jesus Fantasy] Bishop Sigurd, who had already risen up against him because of his acts of violence. [p.33]

"[The Church of] Rome, for which the previous champion Olaf was already so well done, cleverly uses this moment to openly stand up for King Canute through Bishop Sigurd. A few sentences from Sigurd's great speech, which is by no means exaggerated after everything else the saga told us about the Rome agent Olaf, should be mentioned for his characterization, but also for the characterization of Rome's way of work [p.33]:

"Olaf was still a very young man, he used to plunder and kill men, and for this he drove over wide lands ... He also treated his own relatives most cruelly, as he chased all [Mother Earth] kings out of the Upper Land (Oberland) ... He had them mutilated and usurped their dominion, and thus he robbed the country of all men of rank. But then you know only too well how he treated the chiefs in the country. The most famous of them lie slain and have lost their land to him. He also traveled far and wide through it with [Jesus Fantasy] robbers, burned the districts and slew and plundered the people. Because where should be a more powerful man here who should avenge serious misdeeds on him? ... Do you believe that he will be gentle with you now coming with this mass of evildoers, when he himself committed predatory deeds when all who followed him had left him? ... [p.33]

This is what you have to do now: you have to go out to meet them, you have to attack them and throw the evil company to the eagle and the wolf. Let each one lie where he was slain, unless you would rather drag their corpses into the woods and bushes. But let no one dare to bring them to [Jesus Fantasy] churchyards, because all these people are only pirates and evildoers." [p.33]

We say thank you to a high [Jesus Fantasy] dignitary of [Jesus Fantasy] Rome how openly he reported these days of Olaf, which almost all of them served primarily the [Jesus Fantasy] Christianization of the country, well, he [the dignitary] called these days as criminal [p.33]. We can only wonder how the Roman [Jesus Fantasy] clergy is changing it's position: it's a tremendous versatility of the [Jesus Fantasy] Roman clergy. Here Olaf and his followers are just being deceived in the event of their death in the battle of burial in consecrated ground, and shortly afterwards - when Olaf was defeated and killed in the Battle of Stiklestad [about 90 km north of Trondheim] (1030) - [the Church of] Rome stamped him as the "convert" of Norway, this multifaceted criminal, a [Jesus Fantasy] saint, in order to be able to use the dead man for business. [Jesus Fantasy] Bishop Sigurd, however, had to step down from the stage again. [p.34]

11. Spotlight on Sweden: Norway kings plunder Sweden

The "King's Book" does not contain any further essential information about the progress of the Christianization of Norway. But in his third part (Thule Collection, Volume 16) in the story about Sigurd and his trips to Jerusalem, there is a short account of the "conversion" of a part of  S w e d e n , the area of Småland ([south-eastern Sweden] around 1115). It says that King Nicholas of Denmark sent a message to the Norwegian king Sigurd that he would like to "lend him all the help and support from his kingdom and go with him to the east, around the Swedish kingdom to Småland, in order to make the people [Jesus Fantasy] Christian. Because the inhabitants there did not hold on to [Jesus Fantasy] Christianity, although some had already adopted [Jesus Fantasy] Christianity. At that time, one has to know, many people were still pagan [with Mother Earth] among the Swedish people, and some were only bad Christians ..." [p.34]

Sigurd undertakes the journey, but misses King Nicholas and now begins the "conversion work" on his own. "They now p l u n d e r e d  the village of Tomarp, not far from Lund, and later steered to the trading place of Kalmar; there they were  a r m y i n g   a r o u n d  [plundered, robbed, tortured, raped], and then in Småland, and they imposed a war tax on the Smålanders, namely the delivery of 1800 cattle, and  S m å l a n d   p e o p l e   h a d   t o   a d o p t   [Jesus Fantasy] C h r i s t i a n d o m ." [p.34]

This makes clear that the new doctrine was not accepted by their own will at all, as it't reported that the Jerusalem crusader was going back to his kingdom with all the looted goods: "with many great treasures and rich booty which that he had won in this military campaign" (Story of Sigurds, c.24). The saga shows that the suppression of [Mother Earth] paganism in general must have been a very lucrative business for the "proselytizers", just like the burning of witches in the Middle Ages [p.34].

These proofs of saga stories are drawing an essential picture of Nordic Germanism resistance against forced missionary work. [p.34]

Making the picture more complete yet, there should be added some passages from the Knytlingasaga yet, the "Story of the Danish Kings" (Thule Collection, Volume 19), which reports about the [Jesus Fantasy] Christianization of the Wends ("German Slavs" between the Baltic Sea and the Danube [web18]) in the today German Baltic Sea coastal areas, especially Mecklenburg, Rügen and Pomerania [p.35].

As the research about prehistory and early history (Kossina et al.) has shown, these are originally Teutonic areas, in which even after the partial migration of these tribes there were probably still strong Teutonic remnants, as evidenced, among other things, by the uninterrupted Teutonic legend tradition (compare for example with R. Beltz in "Prehistory of Mecklenburg" (orig. German: "Vorgeschichte von Mecklenburg" about Peckatel). [p.35]

Now, in these Baltic Sea regions remained [Mother Earth] paganism for the longest time, and in the Christianization struggles, a particularly large amount of blood flowed here on the pagan side. [p.35]

The Knytlinga saga is also important as a source for our question because it shows more openly than the other Nordic traditions the strong participation of the [Jesus Fantasy] Roman clergy in the violent action against the [Mother Earth] pagans, although undoubtedly the [Jesus fantasy] clergy was also behind the two Norwegian Olafs and the other violent "converts" as a driving force. [p.35]

What is striking and admirable in these reports is the tenacity with which the [Mother Earth] pagans remained faithful to their ancient faith [with the gods of ancient times]. It was certainly possible to force them to be killed with fire and sword, but they were far from becoming Christians, and as soon as the "proselytizers" were gone, the pagan cult [with the gods of ancient times] revived everywhere. Thus, more and more new "crusades" against the [Mother Earth] pagans became necessary. [p.35]

But let's speak the sagas themselves again.

[Wendland: The "Christianization" under the Jesus Fantasy King Erich]

After this failure [when the Wends returned to their original faith], King Waldemar of Denmark undertakes a new campaign against the [Mother Earth] pagans in 1147. He "sent a message through the whole country that there should be a crusade in spring, and he intended to go to the Wendland and make the country [Jesus Fantasy] Christian, if [the Fantasy] God would allow this to succeed. [p.36]

For this journey many chiefs were preparing the trip with the [Jesus Fantasy] King: there was first the [Jesus Fantasy] a r c h b i s h o p  A s k e l  a n d  t h e   B i s h o p  A b s a l o n   o f   R o s k i l d e ,  t h e   g r e a t e s t   w a r l o r d   o f   D e n m a r k   e v e r ;  there was..."

Arriving in the Wendland, this "greatest Danish warlord" [Absalon] leads a part of the army independently and proceeds quite independently of the King and his troops. Both parts of the army, however, "burned up the inhabited strips far around ... and then went to their ships and loaded 60 ships with the goods they had captured." (c.119) [maybe there were only 30 ships? - also women and girls?]

A strange "crusade" indeed, and that under the responsible leadership of the highest spiritual [Jesus Fantasy] dignitaries! But in this way began the missionary work and was continued in the same way [p.36].

[Wendland: The "Christianization" under the Jesus Fantasy King Christopher: the area of "Valung" - the district above "Strela"]

-- under King Christopher the area of "Valung" is destroyed and burnt down with fires and pillaging (p.36)

"The king sent his son Christopher to explore the landscape in the Wendland for being  p l u n d e r e d , which is called Valung [not found] ... Christopher and his people were pretty quick in the pillage ... Then, following the instigation of the archbishop, they went to the ships, and rowed over a broad arm that was there, and then continued by horse rapidly inland  p i l l a g i n g   t h e   c o m p l e t e   p r o v i n c e  (Gau) which lies above Strela (Strelasund at Rügen Island [web27]) and they were camping there during the night. But the next morning they drove to Falong [not found] for   p i l l a g i n g   this area ..." [p.36]

It is therefore expressly stated here that the [Jesus Fantasy] archbishop incites these atrocities, so the Roman [Jesus Fantasy] Church is to be held responsible for them. The role played by the church prince in the peace negotiations now initiated by the Wends also clearly shows that he is the leading man in the whole affair. He is the spokesman, and he sets the conditions, which are not accepted by the Wends. [p.36]

(c.120) - a certainly exaggerated number. [p.36]

But the beaten Wends do not duck. The Danes are always making new moves against them, and [the Jesus fantasy] bishop Absalon is always in the lead. So once they "steered up to Strela [Poland or the Czech Republic] and landed at a sacrificial grove called Böku [cannot be found], and burned and scorched everything there, took away people and cattle and went with them to the ships; and then they steered ... to Valung and pillaged there, and from there they went to Vik [there are several Viks in Sweden and Norway but no one in Mecklenburg] and burned the whole country up to their marketplace." [p.37]

Then the [Jesus fantasy] bishop again undertakes a special action alone with his troops. In the area of Garz Castle [Rügen? Saxony-Anhalt?] he encounters a large number of Wends. It can hardly have been an army. Probably it was the defenseless population that flocked here during a flight, because even if the saga speaks of a "battle" and of a "victory" of the [Jesus fantasy] bishop, the report shows that it can only have been a wild slaughter against an unarmed crowd, because " f r o m   t h e  [Mother Earth] W e n d s   1  1  0 0   w e r e   f a l l i n g ,   b u t   f r o m   t h e   [Jesus Fantasy] B i s h o p ' s   s i d e   o n l y   o n e   m a n   h a d   f a l l e n ." Finally, one of these campaigns leads to the reconquest of Arkona [Cape Arkona? Cliffs of Rügen]. From the temple is stolen "what was worth gold", and [p.37] then the usual mass baptisms are beginning without prior instruction about the new doctrine. [p.38]

"Bishop Absalon and all the [Jesus Fantasy] priests made the people [Jesus Fantasy] Christian baptizing 1300 in one day ..." [p.38]

Despite everything, however, the successes of the [criminal "Christian" Jesus Fantasy] converts were not great. Here and there they baptized some 100 people in mass expedited process, "took from the idols [idols of the gods of the past] rich goods [jewelry], gold and silver, silk and scarlet, helmets and swords, fountains and all kinds of weapons", destroyed some idols, but the [Mother Earth] paganism was still not dead. Of the Wendish god of victory, this means: of his image, it is reported, for example:

"He lasted the longest; but at last, after three years, they got him." [p.38]

"But in the whole country they made 5000 people on this campaign to [Jesus Fantasy] Christians." Really, a great "success", especially if you put the number in relation to the 300,000 Wends slain in a battle that calls the same saga. [p.38]

After this area was probably no longer productive enough for the "converts" due to the many pillages, a march against the pagan Curonian regimens followed. At the same time, [the Jesus antasy] bishop Absalon and Duke Christopher [during their trip on ships on the Baltic Sea] also met a small Curonian "fleet" [from Courland, coast of Latvia] of nine ships, and although it is said that they were preparing to resist, one must assume after the whole of the following "battle report" that they were rather harmless fishermen than men of war. "When the Curonians detected that an army was approaching them, ... said an old man ..., they would be Danes, and it should not be advisable to wait for them." So he takes his flight as quickly as possible with his ship. The other Curonians, however, remained. "Then Christopher and Absolon came up with their fleet and immediately opened the fight against them,  a n d   t h e   C u r o n i a n s   w e r e   f a l l i n g   a l l ,   s o   t h a t   n o t   o n e   h u m a n   s o u l   e s c a p e d ;  but of the Danes two men fell. Then the Danes took their ships and their goods and sailed home with them,  a n d   t h e y   h a d   a   b i g   v i c t o r y ." (c.123) [p.38]

Here, then, the worthy [Jesus Fantasy] bishop had not even tried other conversion measures. He probably thought that the easiest and most thorough way to eradicate [Mother Earth] paganism was simply to kill every pagan. [p.38]

So we also see here that for the negotiations the King was not so important, but the representative of the [hypercriminal] Roman Church was important because he was given much more money for not continuing his violent mission work. All attempts to present missionization peaceful are in vain, but we have violent missionization of the territories of the Teutonic north and large parts of Germany, and this is not a secular-political act, and there is no conversion "in general voluntarily completed", when we follow the descriptions of the saga reports. On Iceland, just for a while longer, [Mother Earth and with the gods of the past] paganism was able to persist secretly. But then it went downhill abruptly.
