[Orthodox Byzantium discriminates Judaism down to no rights: lawlessness]
In Eastern Rome [Greece], the agitation and writing of John Chrysostom (see pp. 18ff) and Gregory of Nyssa, who argued similarly, had led to the permanent lack of honour and rights of the Jews, a logical consequence of the close symbiosis of Church and state in Byzantium [a religios doctrine state was created - today's Istambul].

In the Latin West [Western Greece], in Cagliari, Pope Gregory the Great gave a synagogue back to the Jews because the conversion of the Jews had to be carried out "with gentleness." However, he adds:
"Especially at this time, when the enemy is awaited with fear, the people must not be divided by discord."
So there were political reasons at play. The eventful battles between Eastern Roman [Byzantium] generals and the Gothic kings were intensified during this period by the invasion of the Lombards in Italy [because of climate change in the north of Europe]. [p.29]

In the Frankish Empire [where old French was spoken], the council's decisions on the Jews had to be recalled again and again, such as the commandment to avoid contact with Jews. These constant warnings show that the population did not develop enough hatred of Jews. Even more disappointing for the [Jesus Fantasy] clergy was the behavior of the court.

Under Charlemagne and Louis the Pious, individual Jews enjoyed special privileges as suppliers (purveyors) to the court. Such letters of protection have been preserved and the text is always the same also being applied for individual monasteries, free men, women and Christian merchants. The merchants delivered rare luxury goods for the royal chamber and paid an annual protection tax for the royal protection, which made them inviolable and placed them in the hierarchy directly under the royal court. They had to pay a profit tax every year, Christian merchants one-eleventh, Jewish merchants one-tenth. No more taxes they had to pay: they were exempt of duties, taxes, customs duties, etc.
(So this had nothing to do with the chamber servitude, which Frederick II formulated in around 1236).
Imagine that even the privilages from Henry IV for the Jews of Speyer and Worms in 1090 used Carolingian forms.
The privileged Jews of the Carolingian period (nothing is known about the situation of the non-privileged) owned land and were allowed to take [Jesus Fantasy] Christians into their service, contrary to the ecclesiastical prohibition; they were also allowed to trade slaves. The [Jesus Fantasy] clergy were forbidden to proselytize the Jewish slaves. New synagogues were allowed to be built, which had been prohibited for a long time. [Fantasy] Charlemagne was forming one time a an embassy group for the Caliph and this group had a Jewish leader, just because of his knowledge of languages and because of his personal connections. Respecting Sabbath in Lyon the market in Lyon was scheduled to another day of the week, this happened under Louis the Pious.

Such privileges provoked anger in the [p.30] Frankish [Jesus Fantasy] Church. The [Jesus Fantasy] Bishop of Lyon Agobard was protesting in vain in a letter to king Louis. He had no choice but to complain about the disrespect for his person and that his [Jesus fantasy] preaching [against the Jews] was not taken earnest. He repeated his letters to the court for years - in vain.

Officially Charlemagne is presented as a human Catholic prince of the Middle Ages. But see this: he was terrorizing Saxony with cruzades again and again, with mass murder and population reduction, and he was finally christianizing them by force.
Well, the Saxons were defending for a long time with success, and as a reason for mass destruction in Saxony this Charlemagne always claimed that the Frankish Empire needed it's defense. Then he incorporated the Saxons into his Empire and the defeited had to accept all institutions of the winners, also their religion. This was a political decision for taming them.
So Charles [the fantasy great] is not a saint after all? He is a saint, but only in the [Jesus Fantasy] diocese of Aachen.
[The truth is: there NOTHING FOUND in archeology about this Charlemagne - it's ALL an invention of a "big Empire" in Europe for propaganda of a Hitler state].
But there is another bright person in the 11th century giving us information about Jews in that time. It was a bishop acting in his own tolerant way not listening to Catholic orders.
[Carolingians in Speyer: Moses Fantasy Jews have certain rights - the Jesus Fantasy Bishop Rüdiger of Speyer - and then Henry IV.]
It was [p.31] [the Jesus Fantasy] Bishop Rüdiger of Speyer, who in the year 1084 enlarged the city and declared that the admission of [Moses Fantasy] Jews would increase the honor of the city a thousandfold! He gives them rights that are unsurpassed by any other city:
-- complete freedom of trade,
-- right of ownership of land,
-- own jurisdiction,
-- own cemetery,
-- the right to have Christian slaves (!) and servants,
-- the right to sell pork and other non-kosher meat to Christians.
Six years later, during a visit to Speyer, Henry IV extended these rights:
-- freedom of trade and customs duties throughout the Reich,
-- in court they are allowed to present evidence according to their law,
-- God's judgments against them are forbidden,
-- no priest is allowed to baptize his slaves against their will -
in other words, these are the old formulas from the time of Louis the Pious.
This is highly astonishing. For more than 300 years, the German kings [speaking Old High German] continued giving the right to every respectable foreigner who placed himself under the protection of the king. And it is even more astonishing that Bishop Rüdiger issued a statute so completely untouched by Jacob and Esau of his own accord. This can only be explained by the fact that at that time a bishop was still a bishop and could act according to his own mind.
from 1007: Muslims persecute Christians in Palestine - and Christians persecute the Jews in Europe - fantasy is fighting fantasy without end

From 1007 to 1020, the Mohammed fantasy Caliph al-Hakim of Cairo destroyed churches and monasteries in Palestine and stole Christian property to compensate for the low tide in the caliph's treasury. In the end, the monastery of Dayr al-Qasir and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and certainly other ruins, were returned and rebuilt. Krämer describes:
The Jews, who were said to have made common cause with the non-believers [with the Muslims] in Spain, were supposed to have instigated the persecutions in Palestine. Radulfus Glaber describes the murders against the [Moses Fantasy] Jews and adds that only those were permitted to live "who wanted to convert to the grace of baptism". But later they had insolently returned to [p.32] their custom [to the fantasy Moses]. "And since it is necessary, even to their shame, that some of them should survive in order to confirm their own crime and to bear witness to the suffering [of the Fantasy] of Christ, it seems to me that, by the counsel of [the Fantasy] God, the anger of the [Jesus Fantasy] Christians against them has temporarily reduced."
This reads as if it came from a stubborn chatter outside the Church. But this is a highly educated monk who has not only collected contemporary sources, but also interpreted the religious theme of the great Cluniac movement [of Cluny] in deep sentences:
"You have to know that this [Jesus Fantasy] monastery has no equal in the Roman world, especially when it comes to the salvation of souls who have fallen under the dominion of the [fantasy] devil. Holy [Jewus Fantasy] Communion is performed there so often that hardly one day is passing not saving a soul from the evil and demons. In this [Jesus Fantasy] monastery, as I can testify to myself, there is a custom that can only be put in action by a huge number of [Jesus Fantasy] monks This custom is just celebrating [Jesus Fantasy] masses during day and night without rest. This happens with much dignity, piety, reverence so there is the impression to see angels walking and not humans."
And in contemplating the various figures and forms that [the Fantasy] God had created he says:
"At the same time, these indisputable relations between things are preached to us [by the Fantasy] God in an open and secret manner at the same time; because one thing is provoking to see a movement of another one showing how it was created. At the same time is proclaiming the principle of its origin, to rest in this principle."
Philosophy, mysticism, liturgy, history, this man was uniting [p.33] all this in brilliant synthesis. And then, suddenly, he writes:
"Because it is necessary for some Jews to survive [ed.: ...]"
All of them do not need to survive, just some are enough. The order of [the Fantasy] God shows us when it's time stop murdering around. Then the anger of the [Jesus Fantasy] Christians is "temporarily" reduced.
[Mr. Georges Duby suppresses Christian hatred of Jews]
Georges Duby (French historian [web02]) quotes texts of the respected Mr. Glaber as important historical dialogues, but the words about the Jews are not mentioned. They are not part of Mr. Duby's topic. But Mr. Glaber was not an isolated case. We will also get to know the anti-Semitic Mr. Abbot Peter of Cluny (page 51 f), the "Saint" Peter Venerabilis.
Propaganda against Jews during 300 without end - a list
Here they are, the consequences of [Jesus fantasy] theology:

all this is now preached from the pulpits without end, and it was preached in the whole world. And in this way, the Jewish friendly population of the Frankish Empire became a population of Germans and Frenchmen with a hatred against Jews. There was a war in 1063 with a Christian army against a Muslim Spanish army, and the situation in South of France exploded against the local Jews. Here the [Jesus Fantasy] bishops were trying to stop the action, and [the Jesus Fantasy] Pope Alexander II was praising them for that. But calls for peace are for nothing when the garbage of [Jesus Fantasy] theology had been and will be preached for centuries [p.34]. Mr. Glaber [monk and historian from Burgundy] was writing in those times:
